The Chiropractic Antitrust Suit ~ Wilk, et al vs. the AMA, et al
For those who have forgotten, or for those who never knew, organized medicine spent decades and millions of dollars trying to discredit and destroy chiropractic. Today the vestiges of this suppression are still found on fringe web sites that ignore the body of peer-reviewed research supporting chiropractic care. Explore the depth and breadth of institutionalized medical arrogance in this in-depth review of the Wilk case.

The New Zealand Report – 1978
Join us for a march down memory lane...and read the conclusions of the New Zealand Government Commission regarding the the testimony supplied by Dr Murray S. Katz, which included presentations of some of the writings of Stephen Barrett, M.D., two of our profession's most notorious critics. Thanks to Jay Perrin for his tireless efforts in providing these materials!

Quackpot Watch
You may find this website interesting. They say this: This website is about the conspiracy, by a group calling itself the "quackbusters," to suppress leading-edge health care in North America. No studies have ever been done to determine the level of suffering, and death, inflicted on Americans because of the activities of these conspirators...yet.

The Iatrogenic Disease Page
A collection of articles discussing the dangerous, and often fatal side effects of medical care.

The Antibiotic Abuse Page
This new page explores the emergence of antibiotic resistant bacteria because of medical over-reliance on antibiotics as a cure-all, and due to the use of antibiotics as a fattening agent in animal feed.

Is Stephen Barrett a Quack?
A Quackwatch review by Ray Sahelian, M.D.

Why has Stephen Barrett, M.D. focused almost all of his attention on the nutritional industry and has hardly spent any time pointing out the billions of dollars wasted each year by consumers on certain prescription and non-prescription pharmaceutical drugs? If he truly claims to be a true consumer advocate, isn't it his responsibility to make sure the big scams are addressed first before focusing on the smaller scams?

Quackwatch Founder Stephen Barrett Loses Major Defamation Case
in his own Hometown

In a stunning development, Lehigh Valley Pennsylvania Judge J. Brian Johnson on Thursday, October 13, 2005, tossed out nationally known self-proclaimed "consumer medical advocate" Stephen Barrett’s defamation lawsuit just minutes before it was going to be considered by a local jury. [Hi Steve!]  [Quack!]  [Quack!]      The ACA Response To The Above-mentioned TIME Article
The American public is being grossly misled by Dr. Stephen Barrett.   While he positions himself as a protector of the public, his statements are, in reality, so one-sided that he simply cannot be taken seriously.

Doctor who? Diagnosing Medical Fraud May Require a Second Opinion
Village Voice   June 23, 1999
Quack–watch gets a black-eye in this Village Voice review.   This website — a skeptical psychiatrist's attempt to torpedo alternative and natural-health movements — scored a victory in late April when a government panel named it as a credible source for exposing fraudulent online health information. By so doing, the panel may have been, inadvertently or not, choosing sides in an escalating health e-commerce battle. Barrett believes most alternative therapies simply should be disregarded without further research. "A lot of things don't need to be tested [because] they simply don't make any sense," he says, pointing specifically to homeopathy, chiropractic, and acupuncture. He believes that consumers should rely solely on established medical groups and studies, and that anyone who wants to consider info on both sides is "waiting to be quacked in a major way."

What's Eating Stephen Barrett?
Alternative Medicine Digest, July 1998

He says he's using science to protect the public from expensive fad diagnoses, but if this "quackbuster" has his way, the public will have no recourse but conventional medicine for their health problems.

Toronto Coroner Disqualifies Murray Katz, MD, from Inquest
Coroner Barry McLellan has disqualified Murray Katz,MD, from acting as an agent for the family of Lana Dale Lewis at the upcoming inquest into Ms. Lewis' death from a stroke almost five years ago. In making his decision not to allow Dr. Katz to represent the family, Dr. McLellan cited a letter written by Dr. Katz to coroner Dr. Murray Naiberg, which Dr. McLeallan characterized as a "threatening letter to a public official," and "behavior inconsistent with what the public should expect of an agent of a party with standing."
